My artistic endeavors span Asian Brush stroke sumi ink paintings, midcentury abstract expressionism, floral bouquet paintings, and mixed media collage. I love to work on paper.
An observer once commented on my battery of work with "There's a playfulness to your art." That, in a nutshell, drives my creative impulse.
I love quotes and will use words in my art occasionally. I have taken classes in traditional and Japanese calligraphy. As a poet and writer, words are important to me. But, as an appreciator of Zen, silence and minimalism are also important to me.
When I walk into my art studio each day, my goal is to be in the flow of the moment and to trust that space. That, to me, defines being an artist.
